Angelo State University
Touching Tomorrow
Welcome to Angelo State University. We are a comprehensive university known for our personalized attention, which makes us a popular university home for many first-generation college students. We offer 40 undergraduate degrees in 21 departments and five colleges plus 29 graduate degrees through the College of Graduate Studies.
As a member of the Texas Tech University System, we offer a variety of combination programs where our students can get undergraduate degrees at ASU and then accelerated graduate degrees at Texas Tech. Our 268-acre residential campus provides you an intimate and safe learning environment, where small classes and a dedicated faculty create a family atmosphere that fosters your success.
If you graduated in the top 25 percent of your high school class, our extensive gift aid programs, including the Carr Academic Scholarships, can augment other financial aid opportunities to ease your financial burdens.
Our goal is to help you touch tomorrow in your career, in the growth of your community, whether local or global, and in the pursuit of the common good for society.
The Angelo State Community
Touching Tomorrow Begins Today at ASU
Our Angelo State University community is made up of some 6,400 students like you, representing 220 of Texas’ 254 counties, 39 states and 20 countries. Each fall we welcome new students with Rambunctious Weekend, a chance for you to have some fun and get to know your classmates before classes start. Once classes begin, our First-Year Experience (FYE) is there to help. Think of FYE as a GPS or Global Positioning System to help you navigate your way through your inaugural semesters at college.
Sure you’ll have your studies to think of, but you’ll also have a host of extracurricular activities to consider. You can choose from more than 100 student organizations suited to virtually any interest you might have and from dozens of intramural opportunities, both on campus and off where you can compete against squads from other universities. A handful of our intramural teams have won regional and even national titles. If your sports interests run more to the spectator side of athletics, you can support the Rams and Rambelles in NCAA Division II and Lone Star Conference competition. For recreation you can visit the ASU Lake House to go kayaking on beautiful Lake Nasworthy or play sand volleyball by the shore.
If you just want to hang around campus, you’ll always find plenty to do, ranging from impromptu study groups in the Porter Henderson Library to billiards and video games in the nearby University Center. With all the academic and recreational opportunities along with new residence halls attuned to the needs of 21st century students, you will find ASU to be the perfect starting point for your journey to touch tomorrow.
