University of Houston-Victoria
The University of Houston-Victoria is an upper level institution that offers more than 50 bachelor’s and master’s degree program concentrations in arts and sciences, business administration, education and human development, and nursing fields. In cooperation with community colleges that deliver the first two years of instruction, UHV has provided an opportunity for students to complete their degrees for more than 35 years. Today, UHV is transitioning to a four-year university of choice that offers quality, accredited face-to-face and online programs to students in the Gulf Coast region and beyond. The first freshmen and sophomores will arrive in Victoria in the fall of 2010.
The Community
Located in the crossroads of Texas, the University of Houston-Victoria is committed to student access and success. Through innovative programs, the expanding use of technology, reasonable tuition, and good financial aid packages, UHV makes higher education accessible. Thus, the diverse UHV student body enhances and balances their personal and professional lives through courses and programs offered in multiple delivery modes, including online. Writing and subject-area tutoring, along with other academic resources contribute to the success of UHV students. A low faculty to student ratio ensures students know their faculty. UHV faculty provides quality academic courses that motivate their students to excel. By participating in online community forums, student organizations, athletics or UHV cultural activities, students are an integral part of the UHV community.
