Campus Safety

When events representing a threat to the university community occur, the University Police Department (UPD) will publicize warnings via the E-mail system, the campus newspaper, and with flyers posted in places where potential victims are likely to congregate. Students may sign up for text messaging with UPD to stay informed of emergencies. During emergencies a "reverse 911" system allows UPD to leave voice mail messages on all campus phones and any registered cell phone. Electronic messaging signs are installed in classrooms and allow UPD to communicate with faculty in case of a campus emergency.
