Shippensburg is a comprehensive university located in south-central Pennsylvania offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in three colleges. Academic programs are designed to help students not only develop their intellectual abilities, but to obtain professional training. Most graduates are successful in finding jobs in their chosen field or placement in graduate schools. A strong sense of community is reflected in the personal attention given each student. The university encourages and supports students in activities outside the classroom including volunteer service projects, internships, study abroad, and student-faculty research. Student life programs give students opportunities to lead, make friends, and develop as individuals.
At Ship, it's not just about what happens in the classroom. Study abroad, service projects, internships and presentations at national conferences are just a few of our students' Ship experiences.
Shippensburg University is "Ship" to those who work, teach, and learn here. It's scholarship, where student learning is our primary commitment. It's internship, where students learn first-hand about themselves and their fields of study in a work environment. It's leadership, where students are encouraged to step into positions of influence on projects, teams, and in organizations. It's friendship, where the people you meet can turn into lifelong friends.
