New Jersey's Green College

Stockton is New Jersey’s Green University! Stockton’s unique Pinelands/coastal location provides a great laboratory for academic activities and field research. At the Bachelor’s degree level, Stockton University offers majors and minors in Sustainability, Environmental Science and Marine Science, plus a certificate in Geographic Information Systems. A graduate PSM (Professional Science Master’s degree) in Environmental Science is also available. Student organizations offer extensive opportunities for co-curricular learning and engagement. As a steward of the environment, Stockton University hosts 2 Megawatts of solar electrical generating capacity on campus, funded through public/private partnerships, and routinely exports electricity. In 2013, Stockton created the first Forest Stewardship Plan for public land in New Jersey, which was accepted by the New Jersey Pinelands Commission and is being implemented to preserve biodiversity, protect wildlife, reduce forest fire danger and provide outdoor recreation. The University’s Campus Center is a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) GOLD certified building, meeting very high standards in use of energy, water and building materials.
