The University of Missouri-St. Louis is a nationally ranked research institution with 50 academic buildings spread across 350 acres of rolling hills in suburban St. Louis County. UMSL enrolls more than 15,500 students from 48 states and 62 countries. Nearly 1,200 students live on campus and 175 students participate in one of 11 NCAA Division II sports programs. The University of Missouri-St. Louis offers a myriad of support services and student-life opportunities that contribute to the academic success and social development of its more than 15,000 students. Primary among the offices dedicated to supporting students are the Center for Student Success; Disability Access Services; Health, Wellness and Counseling Services; and Career Services. UMSL also has created a unique service – Office of Transfer Services – designed to enhance the success of transfer students from community colleges and other four-year institutions. UMSL provides students with opportunities to watch or participate in NCAA Division II athletics or join in the activities of more than 100 student organizations that discuss issues and plan activities affecting the campus and surrounding community. The offices of Student Life and Residential Life are good starting points for students interested in out-of-class activities.
