Northwest is located in Maryville, MO. The 370-acre campus is accessible to Kansas City, MO; Omaha, NE, and Des Moines, IA. Approximately 92% of freshmen return after their first trimester, which is in large part due to Northwest’s “family” atmosphere. People care about each other here. This is truly students' home away from home. With 6,900 students, Northwest offers great opportunities for students to succeed socially, as well as academically. With a student to teacher ratio of 20 to 1, you never feel like a number and always get personalized attention from faculty. Many students say that they may have their own group of friends, but always see somebody new every day. And no matter what major you choose, you will find quality instruction and several resources to help you succeed in and beyond the classroom. Northwest offers several opportunities for hands-on experiences including internships, the lab farm for agriculture majors, on-campus radio and television stations, and volunteer work.
