We also have the social life you want, with 10+ residence life options, NCAA Division I athletic teams, 300+ organizations, fraternities and sororities, concerts, movies, pool parties — you won’t be bored!

Take on a mission to make the world a better place

Be a #CITIZENBEAR! Missouri State has a unique University-wide public affairs mission that makes us different. Our students are ethical leaders who are engaged with their communities. They are culturally competent and ready to work and live with people from different backgrounds.

Benefit from an unbeatable value

Missouri State is a tremendous value. You will be educated for a career and as a citizen at a cost below the national average and significantly below other state universities.

Living in the Missouri State Bears Community

Home, sweet home. That is what Springfield, MO, is to tens of thousands of students. Springfield is a great place to get a degree because it’s safe and there’s a lot to do. It’s the third-largest city in Missouri, so it has a great blend of small-town coziness and big-city amenties.

Missouri State is minutes from downtown Springfield, a vibrant area with boutiques, cinemas, performing-arts theaters, pubs, restaurants and other attractions. MSU owns some buildings in the area, so a Bear Line shuttle can transport you to your downtown classes or to your favorite local coffeehouse.

You can easily find a place to worship in Springfield, no matter your religious background. There are churches of many Christian denominations, an Islamic center, a Jewish synagogue and many other facilities.
