Living in the Southeastern Community

Southeastern offers students a wide range of academic, social and cultural activities with more than 100 university sponsored organizations. Southeastern contributes to campus and community quality of life through its annual fall Fanfare arts festival, year-long programming at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, and fun leadership and wellness events sponsored by the Campus Activities Board and the Pennington Student Activity Center. Division I athletic teams compete in the Southland Conference in 15 Division I men’s and women’s sports. Focusing on success for all students, the Center for Student Excellence provides a strong foundation for freshmen, assisting with career exploration, tutoring  services and supplemental instruction. For upper level students, mentoring programs enhance the traditional advising experience, as do opportunities to work one-on-one with faculty in research and creative activities – from investigating possible solutions to cleaning oil-contaminated wetlands  virus to creating unique musical compositions.
