Southeastern offers students a wide range of academic, social and cultural activities with more than 100 university sponsored organizations. Southeastern contributes to campus and community quality of life through our Fanfare arts festival, year-long programming at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, and fun leadership and wellness events sponsored by the Campus Activities Board and the Pennington Student Activity Center. Division I athletic teams compete in the Southland Conference in 16 Division I men’s and women’s sports. Focusing on success for all students, the Center for Student Excellence provides a strong foundation for freshmen, assisting with career exploration, tutoring and supplemental instruction. For upper level students, mentoring programs enhance the traditional advising experience, as do opportunities to work one-on-one with faculty in research and creative activities – from investigating the West Nile virus to creating musical compositions.
