Welcome to the McNeese State University College Portrait! We're glad you are interested in McNeese because McNeese has a lot to offer you. McNeese is well known for the personal attention students receive and for its academic excellence. The University offers degrees in business, education, engineering and engineering technology, liberal and performing arts, nursing, science, and the Dore' School of Graduate Studies. McNeese has been rated as one of the top schools in the nation for the individual attention students receive from MSU faculty. Student success is important and McNeese offers assistance to students through tutoring services, a math lab and the Writing Center. In and out of the classroom, our motto is "Excellence with a Personal Touch!" McNeese is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana, in the southwest corner of the state.
Living in the McNeese Community
Excellence with a Personal Touch describes the campus life and learning environment students experience at McNeese. Campus life offers intramural sports, fraternities and sororities, over 80 clubs or organizations or honor societies, activities in the performing and visual arts, winning athletics programs, service learning, student government, internships, debate, band, and much more. Students get acquainted with peers and faculty in Freshman Foundations, and learn about the career paths in their chosen major. Enrolling at McNeese means becoming a part of the McNeese tradition of academic excellence and gaining lifetime friendships.
