USF Sarasota-Manatee
The University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee (USFSM) is a regional campus that provides undergraduate and graduate course work leading to baccalaureate and master's degrees, as well as undergraduate and graduate certificate programs. The campus serves more than 4,600 students annually and offers 34 academic programs and certificates, on our campus.
The architecturally spectacular USF Sarasota-Manatee Campus is located on U.S. 41 (Tamiami Trail) about a half-mile north of University Parkway on the border of Sarasota and Manatee Counties near Sarasota Bay, the Crosley Mansion, the John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, and the Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. The 100,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art academic facility houses 24 classrooms, a 190-seat lecture/exhibition hall, seminar and video-conferencing rooms, computer labs, student gathering places, faculty and staff offices, a technology and learning center, and dining facilities. For the convenience of our students in North Port, Port Charlotte, Punta Gorda, Englewood, Venice and Arcadia areas, the North Port Teaching Center was opened in Fall 2010 and is located at 5920 Pam American Blvd in North Port.
USF Sarasota-Manatee brings the resources of a major public research university to Sarasota and Manatee Counties. The USF System, located in the thriving Tampa Bay area, includes campuses in Tampa, St. Petersburg, Sarasota-Manatee, and Lakeland with over 57,000 total students enrolled during the 2010-11 academic year. The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching categorizes USF as a very high research university that is also community-engaged.
