Bachelor’s Degree Recipients’ First-destination Survey Results

Graduates of Florida State University follow many paths in their first year after receiving their degree. We asked about their first destination after graduation using the following question:

Your "primary plan" is the ONE post-college activity that will be your focus after graduation. If you plan to do more than one of the activities below, you will have an opportunity to share that information later in the survey.

Please select the statement which MOST CLOSELY describes your PRIMARY plan IMMEDIATELY after graduation.

  • Employment (seeking, applying or secured, full-time or part-time, internship, paid or unpaid)
  • Continuing education (applying or admitted to graduate school, professional school, or other post-college education)
  • Military service
  • Volunteering (e.g. AmeriCorps, community service, etc.)
  • Starting or raising a family
  • Taking time off

Graduates were asked to select multiple activities that best matched their plans after graduation. Some graduates may pursue multiple options at the same time, which is important to keep in mind when reviewing these results. 90% responded and their answers are shown in the chart below
