Placing students at the center of the educational experience, CSU Channel Islands provides undergraduate and graduate education that facilitates learning within and across disciplines through integrative approaches, emphasizes experiential and service learning, and graduates students with multicultural and international perspectives.

CSUCI is a student-centered, four-year, public university known for its interdisciplinary, multicultural, and international perspectives which emphasize experiential and service learning. The University opened its doors in August 2002 as the newest member of the CSU system. The campus is located in a picturesque setting between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, and just five miles from the Pacific Ocean. CSUCI has developed educational programs that are innovative, enriching, and relevant to today's students, preparing them for the highest standards of professionalism. Students are challenged to think more deeply, to approach critical issues of the day, and to make a difference in society as a whole.

Welcome to CSU Channel Islands, a 4-year, public university committed to the highest ideals in education. At CSUCI, students are the focus of our educational endeavors. We strive to engage astudents in a welcoming environment in which they participate as members of a unique learning community. Students are able to shape and expand academic and student life programs. Amid historic, Spanish-styled buildings and courtyards, in an open atmosphere of discourse, they become active partners in learning. Academic and student life programs are created with multicultural and international views, providing an understanding and appreciation of cultural differences and preparing students for life in a diverse world. Students are exposed to experiences that shape human values such as integrity, respect, and commitment. The CSUCI difference can be measured by the breadth of educational experiences, guided by dedicated faculty and staff who are determined to see that students succeed.
